Alright guys! I thought I'd give a little update. Though the opening of my shop doesn't seem near I'm getting closer every day...though it doesn't seem that way at all...
Anyways! I want to let you know a piece of my heart behind NewHumans.
As you can see by the logo I kinda have a thing for mountains. I love mountains and I will always choose them over the beach(not that I'd ever turn away the beach though cause come on).
Generally I just love the outdoors. Every time I make it to a high point on a mountain I can't help but stop and think that even after thousands of years growing human abilities we will never be able to produce something like a mountain. Or the sea. Or volcanos or rivers, or canyons etc. As much value as one life can bring to earth, there are things that came with the earth we could never bring to it.
I think about purpose a lot which may be why I love the outdoors so much. We couldn't survive without nature; there is too much purpose in it. This brings me to a point about consumerism and how much purpose it actually brings to our lives. I've discovered that buying a bag full of pretty clothing from Target could never satisfy me the way driving up and down the mountain with my husband does.
Purpose is the new purpose guys.
Part of why I chose mountains in my logo is to remind me of that. It reminds me that even though we are a speck compared to the size of a mountain...well a mountain cannot walk, talk, interact, and ultimately bless people the way humans can. I believe that everything should done with purpose. And not just purpose that we don't waste time and resources, but a much bigger purpose. I believe that everything we think, say and do needs a big purpose. Or what's really the point?
So the bigger purpose behind this post is to share with you all how excited I am that a portion of my future profits will be given to the impoverished. Hooray? I'm dancing!! I'm praying about finding an organization to team up with, but in the mean time while Thomas and I are sponsoring two little boys through World Vision I will be using our connection with them as my source for now. And it can only get better from here!
