Cana | James River High School Class of 2018 | Midlothian, VA

I can't tell you how much fun I had taking Cana's senior pictures in the Fall! Maybe it's because she laughed at all of my insanely bad jokes, but this gal is such a joy to be around. Spend 15 minutes with her and you can see how loyal she is to her friends(whether that be her human friends or the 90's sitcom "Friends"), her pursuits and her beliefs. I love seeing that in young women. She's got a beauty that's unlimited and a smile that is contagious.

We started her senior portrait shoot at a greenhouse in Midlothian, and continued to explore around the Coal Mine Park area. We found a lot of great little nooks and crannies to make some beautiful images in. Cana is a natural in front of the camera, and I think we got a gorgeous collection of senior pictures for her and her family to add to their image legacy.

Cana is graduating from James River High School with the class of 2018. And she is headed towards greatness. Also today is her birthday(HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANA)!!

Emily | An Artists Lifestyle Session

Lifestyle photography has been an interest of mine for years. But when I found my niche with seniors I ran with it and shifted my focus away from lifestyle sessions. Back in April I took a circular weaving class taught by my dear friend(and amazing artist) Emily. I started the first few months of the year feeling dry and uninspired so I was beyond ready for a creative break, and I was hoping this class would really help.
Well not only did I learn a fantastic new craft, but during the workshop I started brewing some ideas of my own. I was so relaxed and so happy to be a part of the passion that Emily pours herself into everyday, and I couldn't help but long to document that.

the way in which a person or group lives.

There are a lot of different opinions on what lifestyle photography is. But to me it is capturing people, places and things right where they currently are. Lifestyle photography is telling the story of the here and now, and the passionate reasons why.

I asked Emily if I could come over sometime to photograph her while she works.

Emily "Yeah! We would be two people doing what we love together!"

And I certainly loved it.

Emily, thanks for hanging out with me, being a fast friend and for inspiring me and so many others to pursue their passions. You're a rock and roll lady.

Thanks for reading friends!

The Glory Days | A customized photo shoot with you and your best friends

Photographing seniors has been my specialty and passion for quite some time now. I love the energy, styles and personalities of each unique individual that I have the honor to capture.
But recently I have figured out a little piece of the puzzle that I didn't realize was missing: Seniors are in the process of exiting their youth. They've become wise with experience and confident in their beliefs. But they got there by spending years before exploring, creating, learning and leaning on the people that walked along side them. Their friends.

These are the glory days, the foundation of our youth, and they are not to be forgotten.
That is why I am so excited to share with you guys a brand new photo shoot session for all youth! That's right, all high school and middle school students!
This shoot is for the high spirited, and joy filled. For the artistic and fun. For the prom dates and sweet 16 birthday parties. For the feeling of confidence and self worth. This shoot is for the kids who stick together.

Cheers to the glory days!

The Glory Days package is the perfect way to get those invaluable photos of you and your friends hanging out on the river, eating at your favorite burger or ice cream joint, or simply celebrating the here and now together. It's all customizable to you and your people.
Let the good times be forever!
